Continuing our commitment to improving children’s health, the Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile® Program delivers free dental care directly to underserved children in their own neighborhoods, so they can have healthy smiles for years to come.
For children without access to regular dental care, the lack of preventative measures and untreated cavities can lead to a variety of oral diseases. The Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile® Program – dental offices on wheels – offers a solution by caring for thousands of Southwest Florida children in underserved communities each year.
Through philanthropic support and our partnership with Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida and Healthcare Network, we have not one but two Care Mobiles to serve Lee, Hendry, and Collier Counties. In fact, of the 38 total Ronald McDonald House Care Mobiles in the world, we are very proud that we have the only two in Florida to serve our communities.
Since 2014, this Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile has traveled to schools, community centers and neighborhoods to deliver dental and medical care to thousands of children in Collier County.
The Care Mobile visits 14 Title 1 schools (those with a high percentage of students from low-income families), as well as select after-school programs and a variety of family-oriented festivals each year.
During the 2022-23 school year, we placed over 1,600 sealants on permanent molars. Almost 1,700 children had dental screenings.
The Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile is just one example of how Healthcare Network is breaking barriers to healthcare in Collier County.
